PAA combines the properties of polyacrylic acid, polyphosphate, and amino carboxylates. It possesses sequestering, corrosion control, hydrolytic and chlorine stability, and low phosphorus content. It is used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor in cooling and boiler water systems, as well as in refinery water systems, seawater evaporators, and cleaning formulations.
