AA/AMPS is a high-performance scale inhibitor and dispersant with low free monomer levels.

AA/AMPS Applications:

  • Cooling water treatment
  • Boiler water treatment
  • Calcium Phosphate inhibitor for pulp and paper

AA:AMPS copolymer AA/AMPS is a novel sulfonated copolymer designed to provide formulators in the water treatment industry with excellent calcium phosphate scale inhibition while dispersing iron, zinc, and silt.

Most importantly, with AA AMPS Copolymer’s unique proprietary manufacturing process, formulators can count on the lowest free monomer level scale inhibitor on the market and superior performance compared to similar polymer compositions.

AA/AMPS is a copolymer of acrylic acid and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid. Thanks to the carboxylic group (scale inhibition and dispersion) and sulfonic acid group (strong polarity) in this copolymer, AA/AMPS has high calcium tolerance and good scale inhibition for calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, and zinc scale.

When combined with organophosphines, the synergistic effect is evident. AA/AMPS is particularly suitable for use in high pH, high alkalinity, and high hardness water quality, making it an ideal scale inhibitor and dispersant with a high concentration index.

AA/AMPS can be used as a scale inhibitor and dispersant to prevent iron oxide scale in open circulating cooling water systems, oilfield fill water systems, metallurgical systems, and iron and steel plants.

When combined with organophosphorins and zinc salt, the appropriate pH value is 7.0–9.5.

AA/AMPS can also be used as dyeing auxiliaries for textiles.
